The Peruvian soccer club whose top players perished in an air crash, said the federation had agreed to suspend the championship while it tried to put together a new team.
The pilot of the twin-engined naval Fokker F-27 appears to have been the only survivor of the crash in the sea off Lima. Six bodies have been recovered, but 37 people, including the entire Alianza Lima team, are still missing.
