Questions About Tax-Dollar Use

Share

Reader K. Moore in your letters column (Dec. 6) asks why the gas tax revenues have been diverted to the general fund. I agree with him, but to be more efficient than the taxpayer rapists in Sacramento and in Washington, let’s at the same time ask the following two questions:

1) Where has the Tip O’Neill 5-cent-a-gallon sales tax money of 1982 been spent, and how long does the taxpayer have to keep paying for his great depression of 1982? 2) Where did the starving and broke school districts get the money to print the lobby letters and other advertising that was used to try and seduce the taxpayers into signing over their tax rebate checks to the bottomless pit called education?
