The 5-year-old daughter of a Mississippi woman who fled the state to keep the girl out of her father’s custody will stay in San Francisco for now, a judge has decided. Crystal Marie Foxworth will remain in the care of the court until San Francisco Superior Court Judge Daniel H. Weinstein decides whether to return her to Mississippi. The girl’s mother, Dorrie Lynn Singley, who had accused her husband of sexually abusing their daughter, died in New Orleans of a brain aneurysm on Oct. 14. Authorities in Mississippi did not know where the girl was until she was turned over to authorities by unidentified individuals in San Francisco on Friday. Earlier this year, a judge awarded custody of Crystal to her father after rejecting Singley’s abuse charges.
