Bo Can’t Practice; He’s Listed as Questionable

The Raiders contend they’re still pretty good without Bo Jackson, so not to make too much of this but. . . .

Jackson’s sprained right ankle is still sore.

He didn’t practice Wednesday.

He is listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s game at the Coliseum against the Cleveland Browns.

“It’s going to be a day-to-day thing,” Coach Tom Flores said Wednesday. “We ran some tests on him yesterday. The X-rays in Kansas City were negative.

“The ankle is a little sore. There’s no tremendous swelling, so we’re going to monitor it as the week progresses.

“It’s in the upper part of the ankle. For a runner, that’s a tough area to injure . . .

“It’s just something he just felt he couldn’t continue with, or couldn’t do some of the things that he wanted to do.”

When Jackson was lost at Kansas City, Vance Mueller replaced him. Marcus Allen stayed at fullback because that was where he’d been practicing lately. Flores said that if Jackson can’t go Sunday, Allen will play some halfback.
