Leary’s Dubious Legacy

Timothy Leary. How disgusting. Not a word of contrition. No remorse. No regret from the Pied Piper who led a generation of young people into hell, urged them to become drug users (“Timothy Leary, Party Animal” by Dick Roraback, Dec. 11).

The writer and editors who came up with this awful, fan-mag story about this awful, trashy human being should be ashamed of themselves. The Times should be ashamed of itself. National Enquirer couldn’t have done it better.

View gave Leary the kind of admiring coverage it regularly gives the dopehead rock stars and other “beautiful people.” The View section is in the hands of 25-year-old Philistines.

A multipage story on Timothy Leary. Yeck.
