The rumors concerning the death of Caitlin--Sonny Crockett’s new bride on NBC’s “Miami Vice”--have been greatly exaggerated, said the show’s executive producer Michael Mann. “We definitely wanted to get out of the ‘Meet ‘em, love ‘em, watch ‘em die’ syndrome with Crockett,” explained Mann to the Miami Herald in Tuesday’s editions. Instead, Caitlin--played by pop singer Sheena Easton--will leave Don Johnson’s Crockett after about five episodes. The Herald also reported that Easton may even return later in the season. The wedding episode on no-longer-sizzling “Miami Vice” gave the show its first-ever ratings victory over CBS’ “Dallas.”
