The Department of Health Services confirmed 200 new AIDS cases in Los Angeles County in November, the largest monthly total since the disease was first recognized 6 1/2 years ago.

The new cases, 197 adults and three children, represent a slight increase from October, when 192 acquired immune deficiency syndrome cases were confirmed. The new diagnoses bring to 4,069 the number of confirmed AIDS cases in the county--4,045 adults and 24 children under age 12.

In addition, 160 possible AIDS cases are under investigation. Of the adult cases, 90% have occurred in homosexual or bisexual men, 3% in intravenous drug users and 1% through heterosexual transmission. Three percent have resulted from exposure to contaminated blood products. There have been 2,542 AIDS deaths, or 62% of the total number of cases.
