Lynette (Squeaky) Fromme, 39, enjoyed a dinner of Cornish hen and pumpkin, but did not tell how she escaped the 96-acre Alderson Federal Women’s Prison. Fromme, a follower of cult killer Charles Manson and a would-be assassin of President Gerald R. Ford in 1975, was recaptured after two days about two miles from the nation’s only all-female federal prison in rural Monroe County, West Virginia. She faces intensive questioning early in the week, officials said. “She may or may not indicate what occurred,” said Warden Ron Burkhart. “We may or may not get it from other sources.” Fromme is to be arraigned on charges of escaping, but no decisions had been made on whether the U.S. attorney’s office would press the charges.
