Betty Ford Back in Hospital, Tells of Feeling Weak
Former First Lady Betty Ford, who underwent open-heart surgery a month ago, was in stable condition Wednesday in Eisenhower Medical Center after being readmitted complaining of weakness.
Mrs. Ford, 69, underwent open-heart surgery at the hospital on Nov. 20 to clear four clogged arteries.
She was brought to the Eisenhower Medical Center, home of the Betty Ford Center, by ambulance at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, hospital spokesman Michael McFadden said. Former President Gerald R. Ford accompanied.
“She remained in the hospital overnight and this morning feels quite well,” Kathy Dailey, a spokeswoman for the Fords, said Wednesday.
