London Airport Bars Zimbabwe Airline
Associated Press
HARARE, Zimbabwe —
Zimbabwe’s state airline has been barred from flying into London’s Gatwick Airport because its Boeing 707 jets are too noisy, it was reported Friday.
Air Zimbabwe passengers bound for London will be taken to West Germany’s Cologne-Bonn Airport, where they will be flown to Britain by Lufthansa, the Herald newspaper said. The airline has five flights to Gatwick a week.
