Weekend Hotel Rates

Several hotels are offering discount weekend rates this winter and early spring.

Hyatt is offering reduced rates Friday through Sunday nights at its United States and Canadian properties until Feb. 29. Each hotel sets its own rate, which can be as low as $49 per night, based on single or double occupancy. The discount can be as much as 54%, a Hyatt spokeswoman says.

Two resort hotels and 78 properties are participating in the program. Discounts cover all rooms, except suites. Blackout periods may apply at some hotels.

Hilton Hotels has extended its $59 Hilton Week-Ender rate through May 1.

The $59 rate is per room, single or double occupancy. Children, accompanied by a parent, stay free. Guests also get complimentary continental breakfasts each day. The rate, available at 164 hotels, is for Friday through Sunday nights. Information: (800) 445-8667.

If you’re going to St. Louis, look into the Warm Welcomes, Cool Savings program. On Friday through Sunday nights until Feb. 28 you can get as much as 36% off rack rates at 25 participating hotels.

A packet of information listing discount prices at participating hotels, as well as a coupon booklet with discounts at stores, restaurants and other attractions, is available by contacting the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission at (800) 247-9791.

Reservations, citing the promotion, can be made through travel agents or by contacting the individual hotel.

Image Hotels, a relatively new chain in Southern California, is offering introductory rates at its three San Diego-area hotels until March 30.

Rates at Mission Bay start at $37; Encinitas, from $34, and Point Loma (Sea World), from $49.

You can also get a two-room suite at the Point Loma property from $62. A free breakfast is included each day of your stay.

The Super Bowl weekend (Jan. 29-31) is the only period when these rates aren’t available. Free airport limousine service is provided to and from Mission Bay and Point Loma, in case you fly to San Diego.
