A 25-year-old construction foreman from Newark, Calif., spent 20 consecutive hours over the weekend lip-syncing hundreds of popular songs to create what he alleges is the world’s longest music video. Mike Chaves raised some $500 for East San Francisco Bay charities with his marathon pop shamming. The event began at 9 p.m. Saturday at Vivo Productions in the Fremont Hub shopping mall. “It’s kind of embarrassing to do this in front of the family and friends, but I’m so tired I’ve just sort of blocked them out,” Chaves said about 16 hours into his performance. To be official, Chaves said the Guinness Book of World Records will have to create a new category. He plans to submit a petition to do that later this year.
