Interim Stadium Manager Named

The Anaheim City Council on Tuesday named Greg Smith as interim general manager of Anaheim Stadium.

Smith’s name was submitted to the council by Anaheim City Manager Bob Simpson.

Smith, who is the stadium’s operations manager, fills the position vacated by William I. Turner, who retired in December.

Smith will remain in the interim post until the council finds a permanent replacement for Turner, and he will be a candidate for the general manager’s job, city officials said. The general manager’s position pays $56,131 a year.
