Beverly Hills : Hearing on Controls Slated

The City Council will hold a public hearing at its Jan. 19 meeting to consider extending a temporary ordinance that places tighter controls on development north of Sunset Boulevard.

The ordinance, which was adopted last month and is scheduled to expire Jan. 29, can be extended for up to two years.

The Planning Commission, which recommended the temporary ordinance, is working on long-term guidelines for growth north of Sunset Boulevard, where the trend has been toward larger homes.
