Mild and Dry Weekend Ahead

A cold front expected to reach Northern California today will stop short of Los Angeles, leaving the Southland with mild temperatures and partly cloudy skies for the weekend.
Weekend temperatures in Los Angeles will range from lows in the mid-40s to highs in the low 60s, meteorologists say. No rain is expected but coastal areas could see dense fog during late night and early morning hours.
“The temperatures should be a carbon copy of the past few days,” said Dan Bowman of WeatherData, which provides forecasts for The Times. “There will be some high clouds and some spotty sunshine. All in all, it should be pleasant.”
Thursday’s high at the Los Angeles Civic Center was 63 with a low of 47. The maximum humidity recorded at Los Angeles International Airport was 95% and the minimum was 74%.
An inch of rain is forecast for coastal areas in Northern California with eight to 10 inches of snow for the northern Sierra Nevada.
