Local News in Brief : Body Found at Cliff Bottom
Police removed the body of a man from the bottom of a 300-foot cliff in Griffith Park Friday and were seeking the public’s help in identifying the victim.
No foul play was suspected in the death of the 25- to 30-year-old man, whose body was found late Thursday afternoon in the remote area. It was not removed until Friday due to the relative inaccessibility of the location, said Los Angeles Police Detective Louis Loya.
Firefighters rappelled to the bottom of the cliff and lifted the body out about noon, Loya said. Coroner’s investigators removed the body about an hour later.
The dead man was wearing a dark blue nylon baseball-type wind breaker with a red, four-inch-high letter “H” embroidered on the left breast, Loya said.
