Police were searching Monday for the driver of a dark Chevrolet Impala who fired six shots into the side of his car, authorities said.
La Habra Police Lt. Wayne Lowry said Michael Middaugh, 29, of La Habra was driving in the 2200 block of West Oakland Street on Sunday about 10:15 p.m. when the driver of the Impala opened fire on him.
Middaugh, who was not hit by the bullets, turned and rammed his car into the gunman’s car twice, but he could not prevent him from fleeing before police arrived, Lowry said.
Lowry said police did not know what provoked the attack.
