Body Found in Park Pond Is Identified
The body of a man found floating in a pond in Charles W. TeWinkle Memorial Park in Costa Mesa was identified by police Wednesday as that of Fransico I. Portillo, 25, of Costa Mesa.
Portillo’s body, which was discovered by park employees Tuesday morning, could have been in the pond for up to five days, Costa Mesa police said.
The cause of death is undetermined, police said, and they are awaiting the results of an autopsy report by the county coroner.
