Image is everything this weekend as the Republican presidential candidates square off in New Hampshire, while the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People honors black entertainers on network television.

One month before New Hampshire voters go to the polls in the nation’s first presidential primary, all six Republican candidates meet for a debate to be carried today at 4 p.m. on Channel 28, 5 p.m. on Channel 15. CSPAN cable will carry the debate at 11 tonight, preceded at 9 p.m. by a repeat of the Democratic presidential debate held in Des Moines.

Later tonight, the 20th annual “Image Awards,” given by the NAACP to those who project a positive image of blacks in the television, film and music industries, will be presented on NBC at 11:30 p.m. (Channels 4, 36 and 39).
