Tandem Computers’ income dropped 12% to $23.7 million in its first fiscal quarter. The Cupertino, Calif., company blamed the weakness in its domestic business for the decline. Revenue rose 18% to $282.3 million, due in part to strong international business, which accounted for 50% of revenue.
