The computer graphics industry has chosen Anaheim as the site of the 1988 National Computer Graphics Assn. convention and trade show.

The group’s ninth annual conference will be held March 20-24 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

A few years back, computer graphics was a fledgling industry that most business people considered useful only for generating pretty pie charts and maps. But computer graphics is gaining increasing recognition as an important business tool, with applications in finance, engineering, architecture and medicine.

More than 200 exhibitors are expected to attend the show in Anaheim.

In preparation for the computer graphics show, Anaheim-based Lasergraphics has unveiled a $5,000 machine that enables owners of Apple Macintosh computers to produce color slides from color or black-and-white images displayed on a computer screen.
