The World : Israeli Troops Kill 3 Arabs

Israeli soldiers killed three Arab guerrillas who tried to penetrate Israel’s northern border from Lebanon early today, an army spokesman said. One Israeli soldier was wounded in the brief fighting. Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin said the group was “affiliated with the Palestine Liberation Organization” headed by Yasser Arafat. “I have no doubt that this was a PLO-affiliated organization that planned to carry out a deadly terror attack on a target inside Israel,” he told Israel radio. The army spokesman said that the three guerrillas, who were carrying weapons and explosives, tried to infiltrate the border just a few miles from where a Palestinian guerrilla flew in on a hang-glider in November and killed six soldiers at an army camp.
