This country and Egypt announced immediate resumption of diplomatic relations Saturday after a rupture caused when Cairo signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979.

The announcement came in a statement issued in both capitals as a special session of foreign ministers from the 21-nation Arab League met here to discuss the Palestinian situation in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Tunisia became the 10th Arab state to restore relations with Egypt since an Arab League summit last November left the decision up to individual nations. Five members still do not have ties.

In Tunis, Arab League Secretary General Chedli Klibi of Tunisia called on the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council to find a solution to the Palestinian problem.
