About 100,000 gallons of crude oil spilled from a 36-foot faulty section of Hungary’s main oil pipeline from the Soviet Union, Budapest Radio reported Saturday.

The leak was caused when a welded section along the pipeline burst Wednesday night in the Kekcse area in Szabolcs-Szatmar county, in northeastern Hungary, the report said.
