About 3,000 Roman Catholic protesters Saturday forced the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City to take down an exhibition by Mexican painter Rolando de la Rosa, claiming it was anti-Christian and “obscene.” The demonstration was organized by the Catholic Family Front, the National Parents Union, La Salle University and other religious groups. Among the paintings on exhibit was one depicting the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico’s patron saint, as a prostitute with the face of the late American actress Marilyn Monroe.
