Tiger International, the parent of Flying Tiger air cargo line, said it earned $57.8 million in 1987, compared to a $45-million loss in 1986. The Los Angeles company attributed its improved results to lower costs. For the fourth quarter of 1987, Tiger earned $12.6 million, despite a $9.1-million charge from litigation involving two former units, North American Car and Hall’s Motor Transit Co. Tiger earned $10.4 million in the fourth quarter of 1986.
