Memorial Services Planned Today in San Clemente for Jan Overton
Memorial services for Jan Overton, vice president of the Capistrano Unified School District’s board of trustees, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the San Clemente Presbyterian Church, 119 N. Avenida de la Estrella.
Overton, who had served on the board since 1976, died suddenly at her Dana Point home last Sunday morning. She was 46. The cause of death has not yet been determined, a coroner’s office spokesman said Wednesday.
School district spokeswoman Jackie Cerra said the Capistrano district’s Parents, Teachers, Students Assn. voted Wednesday to create a Jan Overton Memorial Educational Fund. Those desiring to make contributions may make checks payable to CPTSA, Jan Overton Memorial Fund. They should be mailed to the district’s community affairs office at 32572 Calle Perfecto, San Juan Capistrano, Calif. 92675.
