Iraqi warplanes attacked a Cypriot tanker loaded with Iranian oil, then returned nine hours later to hit another ship off the Iranian coast, Baghdad Radio reported. The 225,668-ton Coral Cape was struck in the hull by a French-made Exocet missile, gulf shipping officials in Bahrain said. No injuries were reported. The tanker, target of a similar Iraqi attack in September, was fully loaded and sailing from Iran’s Kharg Island terminal at the northern end of the gulf. Baghdad offered little information on the second attack, and gulf shipping officials could not immediately confirm it.
