U.N. Extends Lebanon Force

UNITED NATIONS —
The Security Council unanimously approved today another six-month extension of the mandate of the U.N. peace-keeping force in southern Lebanon, until July 31.
The 5,811-man peace-keeping unit, known officially as the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), was established in 1978 and comprises contingents from Fiji, Finland, France, Ghana, Ireland, Italy, Nepal, Norway and Sweden.
