Local News in Brief : Garden Grove : Suspect in Shooting of Roommate in May Jailed
Police arrested a fugitive wanted in connection with the May 17, 1987, shooting death of a roommate, authorities said.
Israel Osegura, 35, was taken into custody at his Anaheim apartment by Garden Grove police Tuesday morning while the search for his cousin, Ignacio Osegura, continued, said Lt. Scott Hamilton.
Israel Osegura is being held at County Jail on suspicion of murder in lieu of $250,000 bail, authorities said.
According to Hamilton, both Oseguras are suspects in the shooting death of Alejandro Soriano, 29, at the trio’s apartment during a party in the 8800 block of Hewitt Street in Garden Grove.
Both Oseguras fled to Mexico after the shooting, but police traced Ignacio Osegura through a temporary driver’s license he had obtained seven months ago using the name Artur Ramon Suarez, Hamilton said.
