Rising material costs contributed to a 93% decline in earnings during the second quarter for Silvercrest Industries, the Santa Ana mobile home manufacturer said. Net earnings for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 1987, were $38,000, compared with $510,000 for the same period last year. Revenue totaled $16.2 million, down slightly from $16.5 million last year. For the first six months of the company’s 1988 fiscal year, net income was $603,000, a 40% drop from the $1 million reported during the same period a year earlier. Six-month revenue rose 15% to $36.2 million, compared with $31.5 million the previous year.
