Journeyman catcher Rick Dempsey, most recently of the Cleveland Indians, will be invited to spring training as a non-roster player with the Dodgers, the team announced.

Dempsey, 38, was released by Cleveland in October. Next week, he is expected to begin working out at Dodger Stadium.

Dempsey hit .177 in 60 games with the Indians last season.
