Wright State’s Second Half Defeats USIU

Matt Horstman scored 30 points and Dave Dinn had 21 as Wright State defeated U.S. International, 97-89, Saturday night in a men’s basketball game at Dayton, Ohio.

USIU (7-16) scored 5 of the first 7 points of the second half to break a 41-41 halftime tie and take a 46-43 lead. But Wright State (12-7) then went on a 14-2 run for a 56-48 lead. Joe Jackson scored 6 points in that run. USIU never got closer than 6 points after that.

Jackson made 6 of 10 shots and 8 of 10 free throws for 20 points.

Russ Heicke had 20 points for USIU and Rade Milutinovic added 19 points and 9 rebounds. USIU had a 49-34 rebounding advantage.
