Drug Agent Injured in Fight Leaves Hospital
A federal drug agent wounded in both legs Friday during a deadly shoot-out with suspected Thai drug traffickers in Pasadena was released from the hospital Sunday, a federal Drug Enforcement Administration spokesman said.
Jose F. Martinez, 25, who has worked with the DEA one year, was one of three agents shot when an undercover drug deal turned violent. Agent George M. Montaya, 34, died Friday. His partner, Paul S. Seema, 52, died Saturday.
Two suspects, including the man believed to have shot Seema, were killed by DEA agents. A third suspect remained in a jail ward of County-USC Medical Center Sunday.
