Toshiba’s Information Systems Division in Irvine said its current and future portable personal computers will be capable of using Microsoft’s OS/2 operating system. The operating system is the computer software that acts as the brains of a computer, allowing it to read programs and carry out instructions. OS/2 is the operating system software used in IBM’s Personal System/2 line of personal computers.
