Mack Trucks posted income of $4.09 million for 1987, a turnaround from a loss of $30.57 million last year. The Allentown, Pa., company said revenue rose 8.5% to $1.71 billion for the year. In the year-ago period, the company was hurt by a $33.7-million pretax provision for early retirement program costs.
