South Gate : 2 Challenge 2 Incumbents

Share

Four candidates, including two incumbents, are competing for two open South Gate City Council seats in the April 12 municipal election.

The incumbents who have filed for reelection are Henry C. Gonzalez, who was elected in 1982 to fill an unexpired term and was reelected to a full term in 1984; and John F. Sheehy, who served on the council from 1974 to 1978, then was defeated before being reelected in 1984.

They are being challenged by Dorothea M. Lombardo, who has run several times for a council seat, and Robert A. Philipp, who retired as city community development director in 1985.
