Lincoln 82, St. Augustine 66--Lincoln’s pressure defense wore down St. Augustine’s ball-control offense in the second half as the No. 2 Hornets outscored the Saints, 53-37, to clinch their third consecutive league championship at Lincoln. St. Augustine slowed the pace in the first period, opening a 15-10 lead. Aaron Wilhite scored 20 for Lincoln (21-2, 9-0). Doug Carter had 26 for St. Augustine (6-16, 1-8).

Patrick Henry 69, Mira Mesa 60--Ken Caesar scored 20 points and Terrence Hamilton added 15 for No. 8 Patrick Henry (14-8, 6-3), which led, 21-12, after the first period. Dave Lee scored 22 points for Mira Mesa (9-12, 1-8).
CITY WESTERN
La Jolla 73, USDHS 61--Sean Rogers scored 21 points and David Berteaux 18 for La Jolla (15-7, 7-2). La Jolla led, 29-28, at halftime but broke open the game with a 19-9 advantage in the third quarter. John Montali had 25 points for University of San Diego High School (6-14, 2-7).
Mission Bay 71, Clairemont 46--Kevin Ahsmuhs scored 17 points, making 7 of 7 free throws, for Mission Bay (10-14, 5-4). Mission Bay made 26 of 34 free throws, including 14 of 16 in the fourth quarter when it outscored Clairemont, 32-16. Steve Grebing scored 12 for Mission Bay. Clairemont is 5-17, 1-8.
Kearny 72, University City 57--John Ortiz scored 11 of his 16 points in the first half to get No. 6 Kearny to a lead it never relinquished. Kearny (20-4, 7-2) was led in scoring by Randy Robinson’s 25 points. John Pippen had 12 points for University City (11-9, 5-4).
GROSSMONT
Valhalla 99, El Cajon Valley 66--Rafid Kiti scored 43 points, including a season-high 8 three-pointers, to lead No. 8 Valhalla at El Cajon. Valhalla (14-6, 12-2) led, 50-29, at the half. El Cajon Valley is 1-18 and 0-13.
Santana 58, Grossmont 49--Tim Barry scored 18 points as seventh-ranked Santana (19-2, 13-1) overcame Grossmont’s slowdown tactics. Lance Williams scored 18 points for Grossmont (11-11, 7-8).
Monte Vista 52, El Capitan 47--Scott Winne scored 15 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter when Monte Vista scored the last 16 points. El Capitan (6-14, 4-10) led, 47-36. But Monte Vista’s defense kept El Capitan’s players from driving and made several key steals during the streak. El Capitan made two of six shots in the fourth; Monte Vista (10-10, 7-7) made six of nine. Bryan Palmer and Jeremy McGarrity scored 15 and 14 points for El Capitan.

Vista 63, Mt. Carmel 57--Chris Enger scored 41 points as Vista (20-5, 11-0) clinched the league championship. Enger scored 23 of Vista’s 25 first-half points. Tracy Peck and Linda Jones each scored 14 for Mt. Carmel (18-4, 8-2).

Crawford 70, San Diego 43--Terri Butler scored 30 points, and Erica Kaiser added 29 for visiting Crawford. Denise Nolfi scored 16 for San Diego.

Mission Bay 54, Clairemont 30--Cristina Willis scored 25 points on 12-of-18 shooting for No. 9 Mission Bay (17-6, 7-1). Mission Bay led, 25-8, at halftime.
GROSSMONT
Monte Vista 48, El Capitan 36--Melissa Smith scored 15 points and Denise Myers added 13 for Monte Vista (15-6, 11-3). Myers added 22 rebounds and Smith had 7 assists. Andrea Bravo was the leading scorer for El Capitan with 11 points.
Santana 81, Grossmont 35--Leslie Ellis and Rebecca Aase each scored 22 points for No. 1 Santana (19-2, 13-1). Barb Bennett scored 12 of her 20 points in the third quarter, when Santana outscored Grossmont (11-11, 7-8), 27-8, on 12-of-16 shooting. Ellis, who made 9 of 12 shots, had 13 rebounds.
