Rob Deer and the Milwaukee Brewers agreed to a one-year contract for $460,000, avoiding arbitration. Deer had asked for $585,000 in arbitration, while the Brewers had offered $400,000.
“Both parties agreed to it and both are very happy with its results and what it offers,” Brewer spokesman Tom Skibosh said.
Deer was scheduled for an arbitration hearing Monday in Chicago if an agreement was not reached by the weekend, Skibosh said.
