More on Martinez and Animal Rights
Regarding illegal animal pound seizure--Al Martinez is a neutralist!
To be a neutralist in any situation, and in particular for those who have no voice to protect them, is to be the grossest kind of egocentric.
Picture, if you will, Mr. Martinez, your own pet, i.e., dog, cat, etc., being handed over to an experimental lab. First, they cut the poor creature’s vocal cords so its screams of pain and anguish cannot be heard to disturb the so-called scientists at their wholly useless, but well-financed (by government grant), research. Think about that the next time you look at one of the defenseless beings in your charge. Who speaks for them but us?
Think about the countless elderly, handicapped, retarded, convalescing and just plain lonely folks who benefit from the unconditional love of an animal.
Or maybe, just THINK, before you take pen in hand again and blithely denigrate the selfless efforts of a few dedicated men and women. They deserve better, and you should know better!
