Two 17-year-old boys have been convicted of trespassing at the Malibu home of rock star Madonna and her husband, actor Sean Penn, a defense attorney said Thursday.

The two were found guilty of the misdemeanor charge on Tuesday by Sylmar Juvenile Court Judge Morton Rochman in a trial closed to the public, said attorney Jo Ann Duty Stipkovich, who represented one of the juveniles. One of the boys was also found guilty of tampering with the couple’s mail, a felony, Stipkovich said.

The boys were apprehended Jan. 20 when Penn confronted them at his fenced Malibu property and made a citizen’s arrest. They are scheduled to be sentenced March 22, when they face punishments ranging from confinement at the California Youth Authority to more lenient sentences such as probation and community service.
