Man Pleads Guilty to Mail Fraud That Swindled 400 People

ittsburgh man pleaded guilty to federal mail fraud charges in an alleged advance fee scheme that prosecutors said swindled more than 400 people in five states.

Charles Turner, 45, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court last week to two counts of mail fraud, the U.S. attorney’s office said.

Prosecutors accused Turner of defrauding more than 400 people in Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania of $100 each as an advance fee to arrange loans or grants.
