Allegheny International Inc. Chairman Oliver S. Travers insists that the consumer products company will continue business as usual even though the Pittsburgh-based firm and some of its subsidiaries filed for Chapter 11 reorganization in U.S. Bankruptcy Court over the weekend. The company has total debts of around $845 million, while its assets are estimated at $735 million. Included in the filing for reorganization and protection from creditors are Allegheny International; Sunbeam Corp., its principal subsidiary; Almet-Lawnlite Inc., Sunbeam’s subsidiary; Sunbeam Holdings Inc.; and Chemetron Corp.
