Foreigners Win Patents

WASHINGTON —
Foreigners won nearly half of the patents awarded by the United States last year, the Patent and Trademark Office reported today. Residents of other countries collected 46.6% of the 89,385 patents awarded in 1987, according to annual statistics issued by the office.
