TV Actress Battles Attacker
Actress Tracy Scoggins fought off an attacker who attempted to sexually assault her in a hotel elevator while she was in El Paso to serve as co-host of the Miss USA Pageant, officials said today.
Scoggins, who played Monica Colby in the ABC-TV series “The Colbys,” suffered bruises in the attack at 11 p.m. Thursday, said police Lt. J. R. Grijalva. Antonio Garcia, 35, was arrested and charged with attempted sexual assault. He was released after posting $100 bail. Hotel guests who heard the actress’ cries for help pulled the man out of the elevator and subdued him until hotel security and police arrived, Grijalva said.
