Moscow, E. Berlin Orchestras in O.C. Lineup : Moscow, Berlin Symphonies in Orange County 1988-’89 Lineup

The Moscow State Symphony, conducted by Mark Ermler, and the East Berlin Symphony, led by Claus Peter Flor, will be among orchestras presented by the Orange County Philharmonic Society in 1988-’89 at the Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.

Both orchestras will be making Orange County debuts, as will the Israel Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Mehta, the St. Louis Symphony under Leonard Slatkin, the Sydney Symphony led by Stuart Challender, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, the National Symphony conducted by Mstislav Rostropovich, the Bavarian Radio Symphony led by Sir Colin Davis and the Orchestre de Paris under Daniel Barenboim.

Violinists Anne-Sophie Mutter and Oleg Kagan and pianists Cecile Licad and Jeffrey Kahane are among the scheduled soloists.

Recitals will also be given by soprano Leontyne Price and pianist Ivo Pogorelich.

Repertory will be announced.
