Vincent P. Langone has been named president and chief executive of Formica Corp., Wayne, N.J. He will continue as a director. Langone was previously president and chief operating officer. Gordon D. Sterling, who also had been chief executive, will continue as chairman. Langone, 45, along with Sterling, was a principal in the leveraged buyout of Formica Corp. in May, 1985. The company completed a initial public offering in June, 1987.
