The Dalton Gang

Ex-sultress Abby Dalton--”Girls on the Loose” (1958), “Stakeout on Dope Street” (1958) etc.--is coming back to B movies! She’ll don outrageous attire for “Roller Blade Warriors” to help out real-life daughter Kathleen Kinmont, who stars in the sci-fi post-nuclear holocaust adventure yarn. It’s a Golden Circle low-budgeter, as yet without a distributor.

“ ‘Mother Speed’ ” is the leader of the Roller Blade Warriors,” says Dalton of her character. The metallic title refers to the women belonging to the Cosmic Order of the Roller Blade, a group of brave and scantily clad heroines. “I’m confined to a wheelchair,” explains Dalton, “and it’s never explained why, but it’s a chic leather wheelchair.”

Dalton, 52, left Roger Corman’s B’s behind in the late ‘50s and spent years on the tube (“Hennesey” with Jackie Cooper, “The Joey Bishop Show”). She squirms a bit when reminded of her big-screen flesh fests: “I was never really fond of any of them, quite honestly. I was so naive and such a novice. The first time I ever walked on to a sound stage was to play the lead in one of his films.”

Kinmont, 23, has also started low-level--and partially unclad--with smallish parts in such fare as “Fraternity Vacation” and “Hardbodies.” Now, as heroine Karin Crosse, she keeps her clothes on and gets to destroy “everything and anyone that gets in my way!”

As for Mom’s early work: “I’ve seen ‘Viking Women and the Sea Serpent’--a real classic.”

She adds that her mom is adamantly against nudity--but could still cash in if she wanted to: “Mom has one of the best bodies in Hollywood.”
