SOUVENIR OF THE WEEK: Michael Jackson’s solo tour probably won’t make it here until much later this year. But a thoughtful fan who attended the opening night extravaganza in Kansas City brought Pop Eye a copy of the 28-page tour program--which sells for $10 and offers loads of color photos of Jackson. (Our favorite shows the Gloved One jogging with a squadron of Asian militia--they all look envious of Jackson’s black and red uniform, which is considerably flashier than their green fatigues.) However, the program’s highlight is a biography--and sequence of photos--devoted to Jackson manager Frank Dileo, who is described as having a “soft-spoken demeanor” and “little time for the glamour usually associated with the music business.”

Asked to describe his relationship with Jackson, Dileo replied: “God has been kind in allowing me the chance to work with by far the greatest entertainer of our day, Michael Jackson. Nothing in my life has been more satisfying than to be able to work with an Artist whose talents I can help to blossom as his natural creative instincts grow stronger.”
