Local News in Brief : Burglary Suspect Found Hanged in Cell
Aman awaiting arraignment on a burglary charge was found hanged Sunday morning in a jail cell at the North Hollywood division, Los Angeles police said.
The 30-year-old man, whose name and address were not released, was found dead at 10:25 a.m. Police said he had used a mattress cover to hang himself from a light fixture in the cell. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, authorities said.
The man had been held in the jail since his arrest last Thursday. He was scheduled to be arraigned in court this week, police said.
